Cinestar Usability Critique - Masters Module

Introduction

As part of the Usability Testing course of my Master's degree, we were asked to analyze a website we felt was not very usable, build iterative prototypes, and subsequently complete a quantitative usability evaluation.

Our team for the project chose the Cinestar.de website.

Process

The first part of the course involved analyzing the chosen Cinestar website, including identifying violations of Norman's Usability Principles. Personas were created to explore the potential variety of users of the system.

Next came requirements analysis, creating two low-fidelity prototypes, and performing a quantitative analysis. The two low-fidelity prototypes were made using Moqups.com, with each created by one half of the team.
